Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad 9-26-2016

Judy and I took the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad ride out of Blue Ridge, Tennessee with Trisha, Ryan and Mason and Reagan. We chose an open side car because of the kids, so they could fully enjoy the ride and the experience.

This would be our car on today's excursion.

Ryan and the kids checking out where we would board.

I boarded first with the kids and waited for Judy, Trish and Ryan,
that is them at the end of the line standing on the side track.

Soon we were on our way and came to where a line came into our tracks.

And we came to Dry Creek crossing.

Most of the trip followed the Toccoa River.

It didn't take long for the kids to get into the ride.

Looking ahead at the engine.

And back to the end.

This is Curtis Switch Road crossing.

And just past Curtis Switch Road was this abandoned Girder bridge.

As we got closer to McCaryville, GA and Copper Hill Tennessee we crossed over the Toccoa River on a Double Overhead Girder Bridge.

Looking back at the bridge.

Then we arrived in McCray, GA and Copper Hill, TN.

Of course we did the tourist shot with one foot in each state.

Here Judy is walking from Georgia to Tennessee on the Bridge Street bridge.
The lines between each state and each town are crossed
without notice several times during our time there.

Took this shot of the Bogey on our car.

Soon it was time to board the train and head back to Blue Ridge.

Same spot on the way up, but going the opposite direction now.

I think everyone in our group enjoyed the trip.

Our Engine for the day # 4631,  an EMD (Electra Motive Diesel,) I believe it is a GP,
but don't have the specs.
